I may never sleep again! Warning - BUG picture ahead!

I was putting laundry away today and decided to lay on my bed for a minute or two to cool off under the ceiling fan.  I wasn't wearing my glasses so when I looked up and saw a black blob on the shade I had to get up and stick my face right in the light to see what it was.  A FRIKKING SPIDER!  I ran down to the basement to grab my camera *huff* *huff* *huff* then ran back upstairs to my bedroom *puff* *puff* *puff*, only to discover that the battery was completely dead.  Ran back downstairs *huff* *puff* *huff* and grabbed my cellphone (which I use approximately once every 6 months) to take a picture.  Back up the stairs *huff* *huff* *puff*  to photograph the terrifying (yet oddly pretty) beast.  It took me 20 minutes to figure out how to get the picture from the camera to my computer, HAHA.

Normally when I find spiders in the house I scoop them onto a paper towel and release them outside.  However, seeing one above my face and realizing that it could have JUMPED IN MY MOUTH WHILE I WAS SLEEPING, led to this one's demise.  Sorry, spidey, but when it's between me and you - the screaming redhead holds TRUMP!

No spiders were One spider was harmed in the making of this post.

  1. OMGosh!!!!!!!!!!! If husbeast isn't home to kill any unwanted visitors/intruders, I suck them up with the vacuum and then he has to dispose of them. I can't believe you did all that running up and down the stairs lol! The spider was probably like "what the heck is that crazy human doing?" RIP scary spider =P

  2. You know your a blogger when... This running for the camera thing makes perfect sense to bloggers. It's how we communicate with our online buds. Mentioning to unbloggers that your first instinct for these kinds of situations is to run for the camera, will get you some strange looks.

That is one impressive looking spider. I love seeing these guys outside or even on a wall where I can easily catch it in a glass. Over my head--I'm with you. It just has to go.

  3. Spiders that size ALWAYS have an appointment with the "shoe of death"....doesn't matter if it's inside or outside the house. Spiders are just WRONG.....in my humble opinion :)

  5. My house is full of spiders, big ones, little ones, medium ones. Not a single one has ever died through our hands and never will. Little and medium ones are left alone, large ones too if they're not in my way. If they are they get put outside, gently. Don't get me wrong, I don't like them but they eat flies and I LOATHE flies.
