I got some Christmas sewing completed this month, so will be entering these projects into the Ho Ho Ho and On We Sew linky party/challenge :)
First up are some composition book covers made using a new-to-me tutorial. The black cover with the buttons, was made using a fat quarter from stash, and the other two were made with about 1/2 meter pieces of leftover prints. All are fully lined with no raw edges, have pockets on the inside covers (front and back), and elastic bookmarks :) I already have more of these cut out, and will be trying some patchwork versions as well : D
Here's a project that I'm very pleased with! I was inspired by a tutorial that the lovely Fiona wrote for Sew Mama Sew - when I saw it, I immediately knew I had to get kiddy binocs and make a set for some little ones I know :D When I found a great pair of binoculars and realized that there were other goodies in the line, I ordered several pieces and then had to make the bag bigger to hold everything, lol. Mine measures 7.5"w x 3"d x 9"t. In the middle photo you can see the layered spider buttons I added to the flap for decoration, and on the right you can see the goodies I added - binoculars, magnifying glass, bugs, froggy sunglasses. I hope the recipient enjoys his bag :)
Posted to the July linky party at Modern Handcraft :)
Neat. I haven't made anything yet :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the kiddy binocular bag!!! Someone's going to be very excited when they receive that awesome present. The book covers look great, too. Would love to see inside pics. Haven't heard the term composition book since I was about 12 and at school writing compositions. I think they just call them stories now.
ReplyDeleteYour bag turned out brilliantly Sandra! I love that spider button :)
