I'm Bagging It! again :)

Last week I posted some projects I had finished for the Bag It! challenge that Patty is hosting over @ Elm Street Quilts :)  I've finished several more bags to add to the challenge, and I'm not done yet, LOL.

Up first are a couple of sets of Double Zip Pouches that I finished - these were actually all made with fat quarters I got on sale recently @ The Quilt Store, and with zippers I won on Ebay :)  The pattern is really easy to do!  Just be careful if you use directional prints - they're not the best thing to use for this design, LOL.  I didn't take a picture of the back, but let's just say that on the back, my airplanes are headed for a crash landing ;)

And last (for today), but not least - a Lazy Girl Designs Bendy Bag, and a flex frame bag made  with the leftovers :)

Pom pom photo embellishment idea shamelessly stolen from my friend and fellow Canadian Katherine, who blogs all the way from Alberta :)  Her poms are nicer than mine - they must be Alberta Clipper poms or something - maybe mine are Maple Leafs poms!  *groan* :D

I notice today that Patty posted links to bags that have been entered in her challenge, so I'm headed there now for some "baggy" inspiration :)

Bendy bags picture only - not sure where I was going with this, LOL

Hehehe I remember finishing these last month - they're all Bendy Bags from Lazy Girl Designs - I uploaded a photo to my blog and then left the post as a draft.  I have no idea why the post didn't get finished, and I'm not even sure whether or not I've already posted this picture!  I did check back in history but didn't see it, so here we go - apologies if we've had this dance before :D

Bendy pattern was purchased here - at the time I bought it (I'm not sure if this is still true) the shipping was free to Canada - that made my day, since shipping to this part of the world is usually very expensive.

Pretty in Pink - a photo ketchup (catch up :D) post

As usual I'm behind on emails and on photography :D  I needed to clear some space off of my sewing table so I finally put the card in the camera and snapped a few pics of bags I've finished in the last while.

Boxy bag measures 10.5" x 5" x 3", flex frame bag measures 6" X 8" :)

These boxies measure about 9" x 5" x 3".

Green floral boxy measures about 10.5" x 5" x 3.5"

Flex frame bags measure from 5.5" X 6.5", to 5.5" x 5.5".
Yellow flex frame bags measure 4.5" x 7", Bendy Bit measures 5.5" x 4.5".

2 kids wallets, measuring (opened) 9.75" x 4"

2 Bendy Bits bags - about 5" x 4.5"

The tutorial for the wallets is here, and the tutorial for the Bendy Bits bags is here.  The Bendy Bits bags are made from scraps created when making a Bendy Bag, but you can check out the pictures and tutorial and make something very similar if you don't want to buy the original pattern.  I really like the Bendy Bag pattern so I'm glad I bought it - I got it, with free shipping to Canada (a rare treat!) from Miller's Dry Goods - pattern here :)   (No affiliation, of course!)

Most of these items are going to Blue Hills (don't tell Nancy!  :D) and some have gone right into my gift box :)

WHEW I gained about 6 square inches of space on my sewing table - not exactly an earth shattering gain, lol.  But I have housework to do, so playtime has to wait!  Have a great day, my friends!

New to Me and Ho Ho Ho ;)

Happily, I'm getting some sewing projects done now, and I'm quite pleased with my progress :) Actually I'm mainly pleased that I finally feel like sitting down and sewing - I hope my mojo keeps mo'ing and jo'ing :D

First up are a couple of Christmas gifts to tuck into my Christmas box - these will be posted to the August Ho Ho Ho and On We Sew linky party :)

Zipper bags using the last bits of the train fabric you see in each bag.  These are scraps from a basket set I completed a while ago :D

Another scrap user-upper, I made this basket with the last of some fabric I used for Christmas pillowcases :D

This next picture is a birthday gift that has now been given to the recipient's nonna and nonno :D They'll deliver it to the birthday boy when they see him in a few weeks :)  The set consists of a pillowcase, wallet, cups, DVD and book in a TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) theme - I added a fun car pen because it was the right colour, lol.

TMNT set for a soon-to-be 5 year old :)
I bought a Bendy Bag (Lazy Girl Designs) pattern over a month ago and finally got to try it out.  The technique for the cool bag shape is new to me (and VERY creative!) but the steps to complete it, are very simple.  So I tried it.  And was successful :D  Here's my first one - it worked out so nicely!   This will be posted to the New to Me linky party for August :)

First attempt at a Lazy Girl Designs Bendy Bag :)

I was so pleased with my first bag that I got 3 more kitted ready to sew, lol!
