I joked earlier that if I needed to bump my numbers I might count a set of placemats as 4 completed projects, but so far I'm doing OK, so I'll count this as ONE ;) I finished up this set of placemats today - I'm VERY pleased with them! They'll be a Christmas gift :)
Fabric and pattern are from Evelyn's Sewing Centre in Newmarket, Ontario :) Two of the placemats are backed with the cat fabric (in the centre), and two are backed with the floral (outside borders). I have scraps left over so I might make a few little items to go with these :)
BTW - my new "quilting name" is ... don't laugh ... Hot Mama Binding Procrastinator. I SAID DON'T LAUGH!!! I do SO procrastinate ;)
(I just finished a set of coasters to match these placemats - will post a picture when I get the coaster holder made!)
had to check my dictionary to find out the meaning of your new name :)
ReplyDeleteyour tablemats looks great.
The swedish meatball (alias Cinnober Rose)
Wow, wow, wow! I love your new look. The bold colors and pretty flower patterns are just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI see that you've been a busy little bee with all of your sewing projects. These placemats turned out really pretty. Someone will be very happy on Christmas morning.
Take care.
Aloha!
Those placemats are adorable. I envy the lucky recipient! Can't wait to see the coasters and holder! You are very talented.
ReplyDeleteSandra, thank you for the nice comment on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your blog and I have to tell you that I love all the projects you have already completed this month. Great job! I might have to make some of those place mats. Thanks for sharing.
Great place mats.
ReplyDeleteThe quilty names are hysterical! Mine was something like Grand Duchess Quilting Gadget Guru! LOL
Oh sandra that is hilarious! You must be in my head because that exact design is a quilt I've been thinking of laid out kind of like placemats. I looked at that picture and I thought- What! Thats exactly the design I've been dreaming. I have fabric coming up this fall I am going to make from a new quilt line not out yet. I had a sneak peak. And so this was it. I am glad to see it laid out for me. You've just done some of my work!
