I had to take a bit of a break after we lost dear Zoomer ... I finally got back to my machine and have been working on this QAYG (quilt as you go) scrap quilt. The blocks are all quilted and finished, and most have been stitched together - I need to stitch the two halves of the top together and then it'll be an official flimsy. We're going to Buffalo this weekend - hi David & Cassendra & Olive Garden! - and will look for some backing fabric. The blocks were stitched then trimmed down to 10" and stitched with a 3/8" s.a. so the top will be about 55X74" :)

Here are the last of my April finishes - I just didn't get around to posting them. My favourite is the pink boxy bag (3rd from the bottom) :D

Hmmmmmmm all these zipper bags and I haven't made much of a dent in my zipper stash, lol.
Wow! Love that quilt, Sandra. Plus you always knock my socks off with all the fun bags you sew. You must get speeding tickets with the rate you sew at! LOL
ReplyDeleteLovely colourful quilt. And once again, some gorgeous zipper bags.

I love the quilts, but what is this qayg thing? Is that batting quilted on before sewing the blocks together? I do not understand. I shouldn't be reading blogs this late at night!
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe all the stuff you! You really must start selling your stuff. Everything is always gorgeous.
Ha, ha- I'm laughing at the comment from Katherine. Yes, you are an accomplished speed sewer. Love the bags and quilt.
ReplyDeleteOh boy, a trip to Buffalo. One place I have never been been. Hope the weather is cheerful for your visit.
As always your pouches are amazing and you always choose such pretty fabrics as for your quilt that's pretty awesome!!!!! I've wanted to try this method for ages but was worried about the bulk of the seams. How did you find the thickness on yours? Can't wait to see it finished with the backing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to use up fabric scraps, Sandra. Love the way you've combined the fabrics... stunning!!!
ReplyDeleteI love it, lovely/happy colours.
