Tonight I got together with no-blog Amanda and
Miss Nancy for an evening of fun, carrying on, sewing and general goofiness :D Nancy proved to be a natural at freemotion quilting - impressive! Amanda made herself a lovely bag (
pattern compliments of Quilt a Bag in Markham!), and I completed 2 boxy bags, a tall pouch and a zipper bag. I can't post one of the sets as it's a Christmas gift and the recipient will figure it out due to the fabric theme, but I can post the other set :)

After about 3 minutes of practice she was ready to quilt her project, a lovely bag made with Tilda fabric :) |

My project-which-cannot-be-posted - under construction - this is the tall pouch :) |

Nancy's gorgeous quilted bag front and back! Note the container of homemade cookies in front, LOL - cherry and white chocolate! ;) |

Thank you ladies - it was a blast!! And thank you Nancy, who gifted me with two packages of twin needles (2 needles per pack) - in a size I don't have -- I can't wait to try them out, woooooooooooohoooooooooooooooo!!!!
P.S. I had already started my bags - they were cut out, interfaced and had the zippers attached - that's how I was able to get all 4 of them finished :)
How great is it that you could all get together to sew... looks like a lot of work was done...

Man you guys are so productive - but Nancy, 3 minutes of practice???? I could practice for 3 years and never touch a real project, lol. Looks like you all got a lot done, love them all!
ReplyDeleteGreat effort, good idea to plan ahead so you had more time for the actual sewing/construction for Friday night to be worked on :) Barb.
ReplyDeleteOh how jealous am I that I don't get to come to your FNSI's, it would be great to get the four of us together. Looks like you got loads achieved, as ever. I am starting to believe that you are some specialist robot sewist...

ReplyDeleteSounds like ou all had a blast! All of the bags look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteAnother fun and productive FNSI. I just love that you, Nancy and Amanda have made this a real sewing bee in addition to the virtual one.

ReplyDeleteGreat production by your sewing group. It looks like fun to make it a little get together with other sewers. I'll have to try that sometime.
ReplyDeletewow..your FNSI sounded like a blast!! I wish I were a natural when it came to free motion quilting. I only did it once when I just started quilting and I would not know how to do it anymore...maybe it's time to try again.
ReplyDeleteYou make me really want to try to make a boxy pouch. I just add one more to-do project on my list. ;)
Thank you for stopping by my blog.
