Like most sewers, I
plan on getting much done this year - much stash denting, and much less shopping. For fabric, that is - I've already sent an order to Connecting Threads for 15 spools of thread, hehe. I put fabric in my cart and then took it out ... which made me happy and unhappy at the same time :D Baby steps!
Here are some of the quicky finishes I have under my belt for January. With the exception of the pillowcases, these items will be going to the counselling center (I'll be delivering them to my contact tomorrow, as long as she shows up at aquafit, lol!):

A couple of denim zippies, and a use-up-some-Batman-fabric-scraps cat pouch :D |
|
6 flickies, using some of the fleece leftovers from my dinosaur quilt :D |
|
Doggy and soccer pillowcases - these are part of several birthday gifts I'm working on for spring birthday gifting :D |
|
Eunice zipper pouch (a $$ pattern from IThinkSew) |
|
Monkey Retreat bag (without the frame) :) |
I actually have more finishes - I'm hoping to get some pictures outside but the back yard is sheer ice, so I need to wait until it's safe for me to be out there :D
Most of our snow and ice flooded out in the night, however Portland, Oregon is still digging itself out from snow paralyzation. Kids have missed 11 days of school b4 xmas break and afterwards. No sewing here, busy with family things. Sewing from stash is all well and good, noble thoughts indeed. Except, it doesn't make a dent in it from what I see. Good thing the snow kept me from meeting a friend at the fabric store...
ReplyDeleteHoly *#×#*! What a lot of work there! I see lots of ribbon that looks familiar and I am sure I have some matching zipper pulls to that cylindrical bag. Now if I just had some matching finished products!
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Sandra!!! You have made a good start for Jan, 2017 :D
ReplyDeleteI made 20 Kleenex holders, purse size, in Dec 2016 and for Jan 2017 I am trying to sew, cut, pin something for at least 20 minutes every day, so far I have made 2 large bibs for my grandson and 4 washcloths out of scraps for the Charity I support in Hamilton, ON.
The days are flying by!!
Great progress! I'm still working on my shopping bags from last week (though I am making some progress)...
ReplyDeleteI love all of your different pouches!
WOW!!! You are off and running. Great finishes.
ReplyDelete"flickies"? I Need to look into these! I've made taggies but I like the idea of adding stuffing xxx
