First finish of '13 :D

BTW - 2013 is the first year since 1987 where all the numbers are different.   I mentally checked the accuracy of that statement when I first heard it - did you?  Bet you did!  I hope everybody had a happy AND SAFE new year - hubby and I were in bed before midnight because we're old fogies, HAHA.

We had hubby's family over for lunch today - everything went really well, and we played "Hot potato" with the twins (8 months old) - they got passed around the table like proverbial hot potatoes, lol.  Such dolls!  I'm still in the midst of clean-up (dishwasher load #2 just finished, and when it cools down and I can empty the d/w, I'll load up the last load), and have enough leftovers for the rest of the week.  SCORE!  ;)  I stole a few minutes to run downstairs to stitch this little pretty:

Vinyl zippy from this tutorial :)
Vinyl is actually fairly easy to stitch - this one was a trial run just to make sure my machine wouldn't pitch fits (it didn't). The tutorial is here, and the vinyl is from a cheapy $ store shower curtain :D This one was cut to 8.5" x 7", and uses a 7" zipper :)

  1. I've had vinyl sitting around for a long time now fearing that it would be a real paid to sew. I shall have to give it a go!

  2. Thanks for the tutorial. This is a project I wanted to make in 2012 and never got round to it. Maybe this year. LOLL

  3. Yes, you're right, I did check!!

Fab zippy, thanks for the link, I need some more project bags for all those WIPS!

I'm not back at work til next week (got some days in lieu) no I'm simultaneously blogging, sewing the damn bathroom curtain and cleaning - I'm on my third load of washing... can't do any washing up as the boiler has broken down AGAIN!

  4. Oh, we stayed up till midnight and next morning wished we had not. No wonder we haven't sat up on New Year's Eve for many years. The day after was a bit foggy, LOL
Thank you for linking the vinyl tutorial. I might sew a few little bags for things in my purse. Been using baggies and they fall apart and loose the zip grip closure. And I do actually have an unused vinyl shower curtain myself. Small world huh?

  5. Yep, I checked and when I told Dave, he checked too... lol A lot of interesting years in that time frame. Let's hope the change brings with it really good things!

Dave and I had a quiet New Year's Eve... we stayed up for the countdown, shared a glass of wine to toast in 2013 and it was off to bed. We usually set off fireworks at midnight but since we're so close to a national park and lots and lots of trees, fireworks weren't allowed.

The vinyl zip pouch looks like a fun project.
