Today's finishes :)

2 zipper bags (this makes 17 so far for this order) (still waiting for the golf ball beads to arrive for the zipper pulls!).

Infant sized baby bib from the leftovers from Mason's set - the backing (a minky type fabric) is peeking out - it's sooooooo soft :)

I got Mason's quilt top finished today - this measures about 35" square.  I have a metre of the darker pawprint fabric ordered from Sew Sisters - when it arrives (in about a week, I would guess) I can finish the quilt :)

 I designed this gift bag tonight - I'm making some rainbow bags using these two fabrics - I wanted the bags to look a certain way, so I drafted a pattern tonight based on other bags I've seen.  It turned out EXACTLY how I envisioned it!  It has a boxed bottom and measures 9" tall (plus the drawstring and ruffled top), 9.5" wide, and 3" deep where it's boxed.  Mine is filled with plastic bags for the photo op ;)

Productive day today for sure, lol!

I just can't work under these conditions! ;)

Typical supervisor - laying down on the job instead of supervising!  PFFT ;)  Z tried on the panties but had too much junk in his trunk, so we had to come up with an alternative photo placement opportunity :D

Here are the two car mats I finished this morning from Rebecca's wonderful tutorial --- the first picture shows the front and the back fabrics, and the second picture is the mats rolled up, ready to throw into a bag or into the back seat of the car ;)   I'm really happy with how they turned out!

Here are a couple of zipper bags I whipped up today using some remnants purchased @ 2 different quilt stores - I managed to find 2 prints from the same line - one in cotton, one in flannel - I used the flannel for the lining :)

Tutorial by Rebecca @ This Present Life - thank you Rebecca - it's adorable!!  I bought special car fabric for this project but I was making a bit of change to her tute so I did a trial run in stash fabric - I added a layer of quilt batting to give it a bit more body.  It worked perfectly :)  Here it is all rolled up with a pretend car on the side (copying Rebecca's photograph :D)

Here it is opened up with sewing notions pretend cars in it ;)

My fabrics for this project - I'll start cutting and kitting tonight - I have enough fabric for about 6 mats :)  One is a Christmas present for great nephew Matteo - I'll pick up some dinky cars the next time I'm at Walmart - I haven't bought those in YEARS - not since my guys were little!

Pink is fun to work with (speaks the mom of 2 boys!) :)

Someone will get to accessorize their little (and not so little) girl in style with these taggy bibs :)

Inspired by THIS post, I bought these Debbie Mumm fabrics in Buffalo last weekend.  Not only is the post not in English (I love Google's translation feature, lol) - I don't even know how to embroider!  I have a friend who can help me, tho, so I'm not overly concerned :D

I'd like to do a baby girl set with the fabrics - a quilt, taggy/ribbon blanket, bib(s), burp cloth (depending on how much fabric is left after finishing the quilt), an elephant stuffy (this one, perhaps?).  An elephantly embroidered bag would be nice to hold the small items :D

Two more completed golf bags for my golf bag order (say that five times fast!), and it seems my camera ate my frog picture, so I'll have to retake it, lol.

A little trial ... with cute results :)

I recently saw a photo of a zipper bag online - it featured a new-to-me "embellishment" idea that piqued my interest, and I decided to try to copy emulate it. Here's my version - I quite like how it turned out!

I did make one error during construction - if I peek inside the zipper pocket, I see the interfacing that backs the lining.  OOPS!  I thought about that before construction and I thought I had a workaround figured out, but I wasn't 100% successful :D  I'll keep this bag handy for the next attempt, so I can remember exactly what needs to be changed :D  Other than that one minor problem, I really like how the bag turned out, and I'll definitely be making more zippies in this design!  To think that I sewed for 30+ years before I got up enough nerve to do zippers, LOL!   Hey Aubree - can you believe I actually made a zipper bag???!!  ;)

I also finished another linen bag bag tonite for my golf collection :D

Is there such a thing as "too much" shopping??!

I'm too exhausted to do a full post tonight - hubby took me shopping @ several Lens Mill stores yesterday (Cambridge and Waterloo) - then we went to a BBQ at a nephew's house for supper (oh lordy, they made bbq flank steak crusted with Tex Mex spices - it was out of this world delicious!) ... today we were out the door before 7:00 a.m. to head to Buffalo for more shopping @ Joanns ... we didn't get home until after 9:00, lol.  My bags are all over the front hall, as are the contents - I'll clean everything up tomorrow but for now - sleepy shopper needs sleep! ;)

Golf with a side of flamingo :)

Inspired by the delicious Beverly @ Flamingo Toes' sweet "End of Summer Wristlet", here's what I'm trying out today.  It looks quite lovely, if I do say so myself!  She used lineny looking fabric for her background and I did as well - a piece I had picked up during a recent trip to New York.  It's quite lovely to work with, so I think I'll get more of it on Sunday if it's on sale or if I can manage to find an unexpired printable Joanns coupon :)

Later in the day - tis done, tis adorable!  That golf fabric is dark green - it looks almost black on my screen (but I'm not wearing my glasses, lol).

WOW I made some zipper bags! ;)

There's a tutorial I've been wanting to try out for a while - I finally did a trial version today.  It worked out perfectly - I'll definitely be making more of this darling shape!  For some reason I see these in ... oh let me think ... GOLF FABRIC! ;)

Speaking of golf fabric - here's some! LOL!  I'm getting special beads (and other goodies) to make the zipper pulls for these little guys - I can't wait for them to arrive :D  These bags are for an order, and I have several more designs and embellishment ideas in mind :)  Now that I know the Skip to my Lou tute works so nicely, I'll be cutting out several of them to work on!

Gift set for Mason :)

A small gift set I did today as a special "order" - I hope the recipient likes it!  I have leftover scraps of each of the fabrics (and some other fabrics that I didn't end up using) so I can make some extra bits and pieces (a simple dog stuffy comes to mind) but I wanted to get this part done and sent right away :D

Baby set completed, ready to pack for mailing :)

I got the crocodile pattern photocopied and enlarged today so I'll work on it tomorrow :)

My first attempt at a teacup zipper bag (pattern is from Pretty Little Purses and Pouches, but there's a freebie here - it's just not in English :D)  I need to work on my handle - this one is a tad too long, and a bit on the skimpy side - the cording doesn't fill out the fabric handle enough.  I need to find a tutorial to help me improve my handle making skills :D

Fabric shopping ;)

Hubby took me out to a couple of quilt stores in Toronto today - I had some specific "themes" to shop for, and did manage to find some of what I wanted!  We'll head Stateside soon to look for the rest of the goodies :D

This is for a set of bibs and taggy blanket.  The 3 fabrics on the right are from Sew-Sisters in Toronto, and the chenilley fabric and trims are from Fabricland :)

Golf fabrics - the blue (top row 2nd from left) and green (bottom row, far right) are for lining, and the golf prints are for zipper and gift bags.  I need another fabric in a solid or TOT blue to break up the prints - I forgot to pick it up. The golf fabrics are from Cock-a-Doodle Quilts in Toronto :)

Doggy prints for ??? - they'll be worked into a future project - both are from Sew Sisters :)

Some of my Oh Cherry Oh (by Moda) charm squares for a future project - I'm thinking they'd be cute for a project for a little girl, especially if I get a metre or two of the one of the prints to use as the main fabric - or - can you see 4 squares patchworked together (with some pretty trim) to make the front of a bib for a little girl ... with the bib backed by white (or pink!!!) chenille - yummy!!

LOL this project puts a smile on my face - this is for a lil guy named Mason (he doesn't read my blog, so the secret is SAFE!  HA!!!) - I hope he enjoys it ;)

My version of a "taggy" blanket :)

I made this little guy to go with the quilt I finished yesterday - it measures 15" square (plus the ribbons) - these are really fun and easy to make!  I backed it with the same minty green chenilley/minkee-y fabric I used for the quilt.  Here's a tutorial for the project that outlines pretty much how I made mine, and she even uses the same backing fabric I did, only hers is white, lol.  I think I'll go a little bit smaller next time - maybe 12 or 13" square :) 

Tomorrow's To Do list - an appointment with my nice dermatologist, and a crocodile stuffy!
