Taking advantage of the clear day and clothesline :D

Lots of pictures of June finishes that I haven't posted yet:D
Birdy pouches from Zakka Handmades (mine were increased in size by 30%) :)

2 seahorse bibs, using up the last of that lovely print :)

3 car bibs - using up the last bits of some flannel :)

A friend, years ago, gave me some bits and pieces of lovely quilters flannel.  I finally got around to finishing off all the fabric - I cut the pieces into 3.5" squares and made these 3 bibs - they're backed with chenille.  They are GORGEOUS (IIDSSM) :)  With the last 8 squares I have 2 more bibs underway - will post them tomorrow :D
Gnome and potato pillowcases (for Blue Hills)

2 chocolates pillowcases for Blue Hills - the one on the right has more sun shining through it and the one on the left is blowing backwards - they're both the same size and neither are faded!
Halloween pillowcases - these are a gift :)
3 mushrooms pillowcases - this print was on clearance @ Joanns a while ago - I have no idea why I bought 3 yards of it - a fat quarter would have been LOTS, lol!  But now it's all finished up ... and these are going to Blue Hills too :)

I'm lucky to have such willing models :D

Hubby modelling a tulip petal sun hat :D

Not to be outdone by his dad, Nick "volunteered" (under threat of being kicked out, haha [just kidding]) to model as well ;) (he just looked at what I was typing and said the threat was a serious ultimatum, not a joke, LOLOL!)

He poses better than his dad :)

This pose has a vague reference to frontal chestal protuberances - I'm not going to ask :D
Pleated pouches made for a sweet young lady I know :)
Tomorrow we're having lunch with hubby's family, and will hopefully get to meet our newest g-nephew, Connor!

Happy Birthday Chris :)

Our youngest lad turned 23 today - we went out for dinner to his favourite restaurant - Frankie Tomatto's - we ate so much that by the time we got home, all we could do was lay on the couch and moan (DS1 went straight to bed, LOL!).  I couldn't even work up the energy to scan the picture that the restaurant took - will do it tomorrow :D  Now I have to figure out how to haul my butt up 87 flights of stairs (ok, 23 stairs) to go to bed - I imagine heartburn will be my constant companion tonight!  LOVE YOU CHRIS!

"Where's my fluffer??!!" :)

My sons and I were doing a photography session this morning (DS2 is better with the camera than I am, lol).  I finished an Oliver + S bucket hat last night as a gift for a special little guy and wanted a picture, so I enlisted DS1 to model it.  A 24 year old is of course the perfect one to model a hat for an 18 month old, yes?  YES!  When I stuck the hat on his head and handed him the book that I bought to go with it, he commented ... "There's going to be a fatality in the house soon!"  Such a ham :)  The fluffer comment came when we were posing and adjusting him for the camera - I didn't know what it meant (someone to fluff pillows, maybe?) and when I found out, the photography session was pretty much over, as I was unable to continue without falling on the floor laughing, lol.  I'll let you look it up, if, like me, you're unfamiliar with the phrase :D

Oliver + S bucket hat for Lleyton - modelled by his 2nd cousin Nick :D
Here are the best pics from this morning's session.  DS1 is such a good sport!

Have some coffee with your Zip Pocket Pouch :D

Errrrrrrrrrrr the pocket isn't crooked like it seems in this photo, lol.  Notice the Tim Hortons card tucked inside - a bit of a "bonus" :D

Michelle Patterns Zip Pocket Pouch - my latest attempt - isn't it cute?  This is part of a little gift I've put together :)  Construction time gets faster with each pouch I complete!
And - just for fun - because heaven knows, sometimes you just need to laugh ...

... and - on a related note ...

^^^ GIRLS!!!  You are just ADORABLE!!!

It's a wondrous world we live in ...

... when I can shop from home, in my jammies, late at night, and order a book I like, from a place in Europe who will ship it for free.  Equally wondrous - when I get the book I can take it downstairs, and in a minute, photocopy+enlarge the pattern so I can sew it ...

Birdy pouch from Zakka Handmades - enlarged by 30%, finished to 6.5"w (+ beak) x 5.5" tall :)
 THUS!!! ^^^ :)

40 days ... 40 nights ... 40 bibs :D

The 40 days and 40 nights part was only for alliterative purposes - that's how I rock :D

Quicky post - my nurse is going to be here in a minute - while I was waiting, I got some pics on my clothesline, lol.  I used up a LOT of flannel and denim to make these, but I don't really notice much of a dent in stash!  Most of them are going to Blue Hills, and a few are for gifts :)  What a perfect day to take the camera outside!

Monster bibs - tutorial here :)

Upcycled denim from the kids' worn out work jeans :D

(left = upcycled denim from work jeans) :)

More upcycled denim bibs :D

My pretty pink peony - starting to bloom :)

I just got back from an adventure with my neighbour (Maria - aka Xena [the doberman]'s mom :D) - we zipped over to Tim Hortons here in town, and scooped up a free Tassimo brewer with the purchase of a TH Tassimo Variety Pack :D

Each store had 43 brewers to give away - the customers started an informal sitting-line-up @ 1:30 - everybody was very civilized and friendly :)  The store employees handed out numbers and 15 minutes later, we walked out carrying our treasures :D  I don't drink coffee and we already have a Tassimo, so this will be a gift for our oldest son who will be moving out in the next 6 or 7 months --- kind of a "Here you go, NOW GO!" gift ;)  I'm such a loving mom, LOL!!!

I love a happy ending :)

And on the sewing front, I have MASTERED the MESH :D I tried some mesh bags earlier this week and wasn't very successful - I found the mesh difficult to stitch until I learned to use a zigzag stitch to do the seams - after a bit of practice things went fine :) Of the 5 bags I made, 2 weren't as successful as I would like, so they're off in their own photo - not grouped with their more successful cousins, LOL!

Successful bags :D  The smaller ones are about 14X14", the larger one is about 13x15 :)

Less successful bags - the cousins from the wrong side of the tracks, as it were :D  These are both about 14x14".

The boxer and the lime - LOL!

I can't even watch this without tears running down my face from laughing so hard - he just can't give it up, but - well - it's a LIME! LOLOL!!

The last of my May finishes:

Tall pouch, lined with lime green, using upcycled denim from work pants :D

Tigger pillowcase - using up the last of the Tigger fabric :)

Michelle Patterns pleated pouch (pattern now retired)

Michelle Patterns Zip Pocket Pouch - my first attempt :)
Loving the zip pocket pouch pattern, and have more ready to work on :D

Ai haph wakalee! ... and other odds and ends :D

Source :)
Even a crazy old cat lady can appreciate the finer points of doggydom - I love the caption on this!  Wakalee ... lolol!

May projects I haven't posted (considering I didn't get much done in May, I actually did get stuff done in May - and I still have a few projects to photograph) :D

Here's a little set I made - I finished the tulip hat and the dog stuffy, then made a gift bag for them.  Thanks to my inadequate math skills, the first bag was too small, so I made another one :D

Tulip hat and pupper :)

Here's the bag that's too small - the lining is that yellow ladybug print.
Here's the larger bag I made - I didn't have enough of the red gingham left to line it, so it's unlined.  The hat and stuffy are tucked inside :)
The pattern was a gift I won from a giveaway @ Clare's Craftroom - thank you Clare - I love the pattern!
